Though many Colorado cannabis businesses have made no bones about embracing cannabis-friendly tourism, including private-use cannabis clubs, local law enforcement hasn’t been so enthused.
Most recently, according to the AP, “a police raid at an Amsterdam-style cannabis lounge in Denver has triggered a debate over where adults can smoke pot in a state that allows recreational marijuana consumption — but not in public.” The issue created around responsible use and where exactly eligible adults can go to use (besides their homes) raises big questions for marijuana tourism. If prospective tourists cannot easily figure out what is permissible and what is not, everybody stands to lose.
