When Dr. Yolanda Ng was offered a job as a pediatric nephrologist at Providence Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital in Spokane, Washington, she was thrilled. She’d already been working in the position for five months as a locum, the medical industry equivalent of a temp, and liked the work.
