Early results from a University of Washington study show marijuana use may have a negative impact on male fertility.

Dr. Thomas Walsh with the UW Men’s Health Center is working on an ongoing study that compares sperm analysis of marijuana users and non-marijuana users.

Initial testing shows the sperm quality was worse in the current marijuana user group than the non-user group across all categories of analysis, which covered sperm volume, concentration, shape, and how the sperm swim, according to Walsh.
