Sheriff confiscates 500 pot plants

Four pickup truckloads of marijuana plants were confiscated by the Klamath County Sheriff’s office Thursday in the Sprague River area. About 500 plants in all were recovered.

Chief Deputy Martin Rowley said that eight sheriff’s deputies participated in the raids, but no arrests were made and there was no trouble from the 15 or so growers.

“These sites were supposed to be medical marijuana grows,” Rowley said. “Under the law, you need to have a card for every six plants that you have. You may also have four plants at home under the recreational marijuana laws; so you could have up to 10 plants.”
