Police foiled an armed robbery at a North Seattle marijuana store overnight after an alert off-duty store employee spotted the robbery taking place via the store’s security camera system and called 911 from home.

Several store employees were taken hostage and tied up during the ordeal. All eventually were able to get away unharmed – but shaken up by the experience. Two suspects were captured and placed under arrest.

The drama unfolded at about 10:20 p.m. Sunday when two armed suspects entered the Have a Heart medical and recreational pot dispensary in the 300 block of NW 85th Street, said Detective Mark Jamieson of the Seattle police.
