Pot growers upset after Mason County sets special power rates

MASON COUNTY, Wash. — Mason County pot producers say they’re being singled out after the county’s public utility district set new prices just for them.
Mason County’s public utility district has set a special classification for marijuana growers and processors.
The rates fall somewhere between small business and large commercial users.
The Kitsap Sun reports many pot growers chose Mason County because electricity is cheap.
The new rates went into effect this month.
